What's that NOISE?

Hailing from Alexandria, VA, Noise in the Basement literally came together on a dare. "You have two months to learn 5 five songs at my birthday party," he said. "Challenge accepted," we replied. Here's how we made it happen: take one talented singer and guitarist (Alex) and put him on drums, of course. Add a guitarist (Bad Andy) and a bassist (Derek) who knew more about tuning up bikes than guitars, but shared the dream. Soon, we meet Andrew P., all American, frat boy type with a great ear, fast fingers and a huge love for music and playing it! But - oh, crap - who's going to sing? Someone said Andy B can sing. Welcome to the Andy B. Next thing you know...BOOM...we are making beautiful music. We have amassed a long and always growing set of cover songs and have a few originals to sprinkle in. While we love all kinds of music, we gravitate toward more of a dirty, alternative type sound...(White Stripes, Black Keys, Hives, Atlas Genius, Franz Ferdinand). We like to call this genre "post-punk," but we tend to make things up. We have had so much fun together, playing many venues in the DC area like 9:30 Club, The State Theater, Jammin' Java, the Hard Rock Cafe, The Light Horse, Empire and more.
